Beyoncé e Jay Z serão homenageados na 30ª edição do "GLAAD Media Awards", premiação LGBT

Beyoncé e Jay Z serão os grandes homenageados, com o Prêmio Vanguard, por seu trabalho promovendo a aceitação LGBTQ, na 30ª edição do GLAAD Media Awards, que acontece em Los Angeles, no dia 28 de março. 


Nessa segunda (11), Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), uma organização não governamental estadunidense cujo foco é a monitoramento da maneira como a mídia retrata as pessoas LGBT. Anunciou Beyoncé e Jay Z, como os homenageados da noite de prêmiação do GLAAD Media Awards, que chega a sua 30ª edição este ano. 



Entre a lista de já homenageados com o Prêmio Vanguard incluem Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Cher, Janet Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Antonio Banderas, Demi Lovato, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric McCormack e Britney Spears.

Segundo o anúncio, o casal Carter, são aliados de longa data e apoiadores da comunidade LGBTQ que usam suas plataformas globais para compartilhar mensagens que inspiram e mudam o mundo para melhor.

Bey, se manifestou contra as leis que discriminam pessoas LGBTQ em estados como Carolina do Norte e celebram a aprovação da igualdade no casamento em todo o país, em 2015, dizendo que "todos têm o direito de amar quem amam". Ela falou em voz alta para jovens LGBTQ, atravez do Facebook em 2017, que “os estudantes LGBTQ precisam saber que os apoiamos.


 Queen B, incluiu pessoas LGBTQ e casais em vídeos para 'Formation' e 'All Night'.


Em 2016, dedicou sua performance de 'Halo' durante sua turnê às vítimas e sobreviventes do tiroteio na boate Pulse, em Orlando, durante a “The Formation World Tour”. "Esta próxima música é sobre amor e eu gostaria de dedicá-la a todos os membros das famílias que perderam alguém na Flórida", disse Bey.



 Ivy Park, sua linha de roupas esportivas, exibiu orgulhosamente a atriz transicionista Laverne Cox como um dos rostos em destaque em uma das promos da marca.

Já, JAY-Z, recebeu um GLAAD Special Recognition Award no ano passado por sua música e videoclipe, “Smile”, com sua mãe Gloria Carter, que usou a música para assumir que é lésbica. As letras e o vídeo compartilham a poderosa história da Sra. G. Carter, que aceitou o GLAAD Media Award do jornalista Robin Roberts.


JAY-Z apresentou as pessoas LGBTQ em sua arte, incluindo uma aparição da líder LGBTQ Janet Mock no vídeo de 'Family Feud', que começa com uma citação do icônico escritor gay James Baldwin.


"Beyoncé e JAY-Z são ícones globais e defensores apaixonados dos direitos humanos e aceitação para todas as pessoas", disse a presidente e CEO da GLAAD, Sarah Kate Ellis. “Quando Beyoncé e JAY-Z falam, o mundo se inspira e quando se trata de pessoas LGBT, suas vozes de aceitação são ouvidas em alto e bom som. Não poderíamos estar mais orgulhosos de estar ao lado deles para enviar uma mensagem de amor durante o maior evento LGBTQ do mundo e honrar seu trabalho para dobrar o arco da justiça para as pessoas LGBTQ, pessoas de cor e comunidades marginalizadas em todos os lugares. ”

Além do casal mais poderoso do pop, Madonna, também será homenageada pela GLAAD Media Awards, na cerimonia de Nova Iork que acontece no dia 04 de maio, Ela será a primeira mulher e a segunda pessoa a ser honrada com o Advocate for Change Award. O primeiro foi Bill Clinton, que recebeu o prêmio em 2013 durante o 24º edição da premiação, por seu trabalho de defesa a igualdade do casamento em todo o país.
