As indicações para o 72º Emmy Awards foram anunciadas terça-feira de manhã.
Saíram os indicados ao Emmy 2020, neste ano a Netflix quebrou o recorde de maior número de indicações em um único ano, somando 160 no total. A HBO era o recordista anterior, com 137 em 2019.
A série mais indicada foi Watchmen, da HBO, com 26 no total, seguida por The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, da Amazon, com 20. Ozark, da Netflix, e Succession da HBO, com 18, cada uma.
Watchmen está indicada entre as melhores séries limitadas, juntamente com Little Fires Everywhere do Hulu, Mrs. America, Unbelievable e Unorthodox.
O 72º Emmy Awards será apresentado por Jimmy Kimmel, que também atuará como produtor executivo. O show será transmitido no dia 20 de setembro, a cerimônia de entrega ainda está indefinida. Em virtude da pandemia, tudo indica que o formato escolhido será virtual, a fim de garantir a segurança dos convidados em meio ao avanço da Covid-19 nos Estados Unidos.
